
Psychoeducational Assessment
Comprehensive Assessment of Learning and Attention Issues:
Assessment of School-related issues, learning disabilities (LD), giftedness, attention deficit, hyperactivity, and social-emotional functioning in both Children and Adults.
The assessment examines cognitive and learning profile to determine areas of strength and need and to investigate whether a learning or attention disorder is impacting academic, work and daily functioning. It includes a screening of social-emotional functioning/mental health screening.
A Psychoeducational Assessment typically involves 6-8 hours of direct testing and completion of intake forms and behaviorual / clinical questionnaires. The entire assessment (including intakes, interviews, testing, scoring, file review, clinical formulation, feedback session, and report writing) can take between 15 to 25 hours to complete.
A Psychoeducational Assessment can be completed fully in-person or in a hybrid fashion, where you complete the cognitive and academic portions of the assessment in person and the remaining components virtually (Via Phone, Video, and Online Measures and Forms).

Assessment Process

Initial Intake (Includes initial consultation, completion of intake, history, consent, and fee agreement forms)

A self and/or Parent Interview (includes separate parent and child interviews, if under 18)

Review of Intake Forms, Academic Records, Developmental History & Previous Assessments, if applicable

Cognitive Testing (includes IQ testing, assessment of abstract reasoning, visual spatial, verbal, visual-motor, memory, attention, processing speed, and executive functioning skills

Academic Foundation and Achievement Testing

Objective Testing of Sustained Attention & Impulsivity

Completion of Clinical / Behavioural Self and Informant/Parent Measures, examining attention and executive functioning skills and screening for mood and social-emotional functioning.

A Feedback Session, where results and diagnoses (if applicable) are communicated to the client/parents.

A Comprehensive Report, which includes all results, diagnoses, and recommendations for school or workplace Supports and Accommodations, if applicable.

Timeline to complete the assessment from the initial testing session to report preparation is approx. 10-12 weeks. However a Results Summary Consultation Letter or Report can be provided within 4-6 weeks of completing the assessment.

Gifted assessments are completed in two to four weeks.
Service Fees
Our Psychoeducational Assessment Fees range between $2800 to $4200 depending on the age of the individual, the complexity of the profile and the requested assessment components (number of additional required hours and instruments), and are billed at $250/hour.
Gifted Assessments including feedback and report take approximately 5 hours to complete and are billed at $1200.
Fees can be paid by installment. Our services are covered by most extended health insurance benefits, depending on your coverage, and are tax deductible.
