I am the Clinic Director and Founder at Mindful Psychology, with over 25 years of clinical experience in providing comprehensive psychological services in Ontario, Canada.  I am a Registered Clinical and School Psychologist, in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), and  the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board (NLPB). I am a mindfulness practitioner, specializing in Mindfulness-Based therapeutic modalities, such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (M-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduction (MBSR), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies, among others, with extensive experience in the areas of Complex Trauma, Mood and Anxiety, Chronic Pain, Traumatic Brain Injury, Psychological Injury, Learning Disability, Autism, and ADHD. Over the past 25 years, I have conducted comprehensive psychological assessments for various hospitals, organizations, private clinics, and agencies. I specialize in Diagnostic Mental Health Assessments, and Assessments of Learning Disabilities, Giftedness, Cognitive-Developmental Assessments, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), with children, teens, and adults. I also assess Psychological Injuries (due to Auto or Workplace Accidents), and conduct Psychovocational and Neuropsychological (Supervised) Assessments in collaboration with Vocational Rehab Specialists and Registered Neuropsychologists. I obtained my Honours Bachelors of Arts Degree, with Distinction, in Psychology from York University and my Masters Degree in Applied Psychology and Cognitive Science from University of Toronto in 2001. I subsequently completed advanced graduate level coursework in clinical and clinical-developmental psychology and neuropsychology, as part of a PhD program in the Developmental and Cognitive Processes Department at York University and completed year-long Clinical Practicums/Internships in Psychotherapy and Clinical Neuropsychology at CAMH and SJRH. Prior to establishing Mindful Psychology, I worked in a variety of research and clinical settings in Ontario, including University of Toronto, Baycrest Hospital, CAMH (Psychological Assessment Services-Neuropsychology Lab), St. Johns Rehab Hospital (Complex Trauma Program-Psychology Dept.), JVS Toronto (Psychological and Vocational Services) as well as various independent clinical practices, providing comprehensive clinical, school, and neuropsychological assessments for insurance companies, law firms, various Ontario District School Boards, Children's Aid Society, and Ontario Works. I have continued to be involved with psychological research and have contributed to the advancement of the field of psychology and psychological research by publishing articles in peer reviewed scholarly journals.  I currently accept clients for Consultation and Assessment services and provide Clinical Supervision for Treatment services at Mindful Psychology.

I am a licensed Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I completed my MEd. at the University of Ottawa and have extensive training and experience in Mindfulness modalities and Play and Drama Therapy.   I work with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, executive dysfunction, chronic pain, ADHD symptoms, Autism traits, or social difficulties. I offer a caring, supportive, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment. In my work with children and pre-teens, I provide Mindfulness-Based Play Therapy (Play and Sand Therapy ) as well as Art and Drama Therapy, to address anxiety and behavioural issues and focus on enhancing their emotion-regulation and social skills development.  I also provide Parental Coaching to guide parents on how to communicate with their child, how to manage problematic behaviours but also how to focus on, utilize, and support their child's areas of strength. ​In my work with adults and teens, I employ evidence-based mindfulness therapies, such as Mindfuness-Based Cognitive Therapy (M-CBT),  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), to support clients on their healing path. Together we will build on your strengths, identify barriers that are getting in your way of happiness and success, and help strengthen and enhance your coping skills to help you better manage emotions and overcome life challenges. I am a Clinical Psychological Associate (Supervised Practice), Registered with the College of Psychologists and Applied Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).  Having gained clinical experience in various clinical and forensic settings,  I have developed great awareness of the intersections of factors that shape clients’ mental health and well-being.  I am respectful and considerate of cultural and contextual factors when offering support.  My approach is warm, empathic, and grounded in humanistic principles while utilizing evidence-based interventions to help my client achieve their goals. ​I am a trauma-informed and trained clinician.  I am fully trained in Trauma work, CBT, DBT, ACT, and Emotion-Focused Therapies and utilize mindfulness and mind-body based holistic approaches in my practice.  Clients respond to the healing space I create with enhanced self-worth, self-compassion and hope for the future. I treat clients dealing with anxiety, social anxiety, depression, irritability/anger, stress, problematic behaviour, trauma, chronic pain, adjustment issues, and relationship issues. I work with private clients as well as Auto Insurance and WSIB clients. I also provide Psychological Assessment Services under supervision, including Diagnostic Mental Health and Psychological Assessment and ADHD Assessment. I work primarily with adults.

I am registered Nurse and Psychotherapist with the College of Nurses of Ontario, 1 of the 6 regulated colleges that are permitted to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario. I work as a Psychiataric Nurse at CAMH in addition to working at Mindful Psychology. My work is holistic and integrative, mindfulness based, cognitive-behavioural, and client-centred. My approach leaves no areas unexamined. Together, we will explore the historical factors that are leading to how you think, feel, and behave, and then find more healthy and adaptive ways to respond and relate to those experiences. Above all, I focus on compassion and non-judgemental acceptance to enable inner exploration and growth. I work with adults and address/treat anxiety, depression, and addiction issues among other areas.

As a Licensed Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, Sakina collaborate with the Clinical Director and Clinical Psychologist in conducting comprehensive Psychovocational Assessments to help assesses clients employability and work aptitude, taking into account their barriers, in order to identify suitable career prospects. Additionally, She assists with  career exploration and vocational rehabilitation, and provides chronic pain and anxiety management mental health support to clients who have sustained injuries. ​ Sakina is a fully trained and skilled, Mindfulness, ACT, and CBT Clinical Mental Health Counsellor. She work under the direct clinical supervision of the clinical director in providing personalized and effective mental health care to clients. She works with clients facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, adjustment issues, emotion regulation challenges, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, and grief, among other conditions. She follows a holistic approach and personalizes her techniques and style to cater to the unique needs of clients, creating a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where they can focus on healing and growth. ​As a Cogmed Coach, Sakina provides Working Memory Training to children and adults experiencing attention and memory issues and/or diagnosed with ADHD, Autsim or Learning Disability. Sakina is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu and she has experience in working with culturally diverse populations, children, adults, and families. She also offers mindfulness groups for anxiety and stress with adults and social skills training groups for children.

I am a Qualifying member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), with over 10 years of clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, providing mental health support in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress, family and relationship problems, ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, and trauma. I am passionate about supporting my clients. My approach to therapy is eclectic, constantly evolving for each client during the course of therapy to suit their unique needs and preferences. I have extensive training and experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy (CBPT), Schema Therapy (ST), Group Therapy, and EEG Neurofeedback Therapy. I am a Certified Neurofeedback Therapist and have a vast knowledge of the Neurofeedback science with extensive experience in treating various behavioural disorders, including stress-related mental health issues, ADHD, ADD, sleep disorders, and headaches using Neurofeedback therapy. Since Neurofeedback encourages neuroplasticity, it has the potential to result in longer-lasting adjustments in brain functioning without any side effects. I conducted my Health Psychology PhD dissertation research on the efficiency of Neurofeedback for treatment of migraine headaches. I am fluent in Farsi, with a working proficiency in English. Masi is a Psychoeducational Consultant conducting psychometric assessment services under the direct supervision of the Clinic Director and Clinical and School Psychologist, at Mindful Psychology. Masi is skilled in conducting comprehensive psychometric assessments in the areas of Cognition, Memory, Academics, Attention, Executive Functioning, Mood, and Social-Emotional Functioning. Masi completed his Master of Psychology (MPsy) at Alder University in Canada, and he is currently in the process of registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). His work is guided by a deep commitment to client-centred care, helping individuals navigate their unique strengths and challenges.

Sukhie has been a dedicated and indispensable member of the Mindful Psychology Clinic since its inception in 2015. As a Clinical Intake Coordinator, she is committed to helping you navigate available mental health services provided by Mindful Psychology and receiving timely services at our clinic. She is responsible for conducting the initial intake session for specific assessment services, gathering relevant background information, implementing a plan for the next steps in the process, preparing Draft OCFs, and following up with clients regarding their applications and completion of psychometric questionnaires. Sukhie is extensively trained and highly skilled as a senior level Psychometrist, providing comprehensive psychometric testing for various assessments, training new staff and students in psychometirc testing, and overseeing their work and scoring for quality assurance.

Chloe will answer your initial questions and help connect you with the right service and the clinician who can best meet your needs. She is responsible for scheduling your initial appointments, managing communications, processing fees, and providing you with the information and support you need to access our services a timely and efficient manner.
